Classes
ECC offers a wide variety of English language classes designed to meet the needs of students of all levels, ages, and backgrounds. All instructors will be scheduled for some combination of our kids and adult programs. Here are three of the main programs: Free Time Lessons (age 14 upwards)Free Time Lessons (FTL) are the mainstay of ECC Foreign Language Institutes. Our FTL textbooks were developed in-house and are revised regularly. Each lesson is forty minutes long and students are free to sign up for any time that suits their schedule at any school in the country. The lessons have a maximum of four students, and the curriculum covers the range of abilities from absolute beginner to advanced. Students are free to attend FTLs at any of ECC's schools across Japan. Kids' English World (age 1.5 to 12)The Kids' English World (KEW) program was created from scratch by our development team in 1995 and, like all of our programs, is continually updated and improved through the experience and input of our teachers. In 2003, the Mini Kids program was started for children ages one-and-a-half to three years of age. All Mini Kids and KEW classes are taught by native instructors and meet weekly through the academic year. Lesson plans are easy to follow, educational, fun, and require no use of Japanese by the teacher. ECC takes pride in KEW's home-grown curriculum, training, support, and opportunities for professional development. Regular Classes (age 16 upwards)ECC offers several regular classes for upper level (pre-intermediate through advanced) students. These classes are comprised of eight to twelve students, meet once a week for ninety minutes, and span a complete academic year. Conversation courses focus on improving students' conversational skills through review and practice of expressions and advanced conversation functions (agreeing/disagreeing, interrupting, expressing opinions, etc.). |
